Tummy Touch Records’ founder Tim Love Lee has been a pioneer of electronic dance music since the early 90’s. With three releases to his name, as well as commercially available mix albums. He has also launched the careers of artists such as Groove Armada, Tom Vek and The Phenomenal Handclap Band. Despite such an impressive resume, this doesn’t even begin to describe the eccentric A&R maverick and selector. Spread the Love.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL DAY IN NEW YORK.
A bike ride up the west side bike path, across the George Washington Bridge and in to the Palisades Park then back home to Brooklyn. Followed by thirst quenching real ales at Marshall Stack and cheese based food from Café Katja. Cycling gives you the best excuse of consuming lots of calories.
3 THINGS YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE VEFORE YOU DIE?
I try to be satisfied with everything I’ve done up to now, as you never know when the end will come! I would definitely like to be a dad though, and a dog owner. And while I’m at it I’ll have the Volvo 240 station wagon too! Converted to run on vegetable oil of course.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION IN YOUR SPACE?
Macbeth Studio Systems M5 semi modular analogue synthesizer with custom paint job. Programming this thing is like climbing a mountain without a safety harness.
Oh lord, there have been many of those. Usually self inflicted. One that sticks in my mind is one time in Belgium I played a Betty Davis track only to have some guy come up to me and pull up his shirt – he had a HUGE Betty Davis tattoo all over his chest and then insisted that we juggle bar stools together for the rest of the track. I think I did a pretty good job as we only ended up breaking about 10 glasses. Not bad for my fist attempt.
WHO”S SPACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?
King Tubby’s.
NAME ONE THING THIS WORLD DOESNT NEED?
Arms dealers.
FIRST PAID JOB?
Paper round in Cambridge, UK. I used to deliver Prince Edward his Sunday papers!
ONE THING THE WORLD NEEDS MORE OF?
Love, what else ?
Thanks Tim!
